Methods for getting rid of ingrown hairs:
There are some things you can do right at home to help get rid of annoying stubborn ingrown hairs:
1. Exfoliation. An accumulation of dead skin can cause clogged pores so exfoliation is key to helping treat and prevent hairs from growing backwards into the skin. Methods of exfoliation can include using a salt, sugar, or coffee scrub, a dry brush, an exfoliating pad, or even a loofah with gentle soap for those with very sensitive skin.
2. Serums. Ingrown hair serums are designed with specific ingredients in mind to help to treat and release trapped hair follicles.
3. Nourishing oils. Lightweight oils that are not comedogenic (meaning they will not clog your pores) are designed with ingredients that soften the skin & hair allowing trapped hair to loosen up and continue growing towards the surface of your skin so it can be removed.
4. Regular Washing. Cleansing the area impacted with the ingrown hair regularly in a focused circular motion repeatedly can help loosen up the hair that is trapped and overtime the hair follicle will begin to grow outwards (towards the surface of the skin) so it can be pulled out with a proper hair removal technique.
